About Tim Langley

Dr. Tim Langley is a family chiropractor in Marietta, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Langley Chiropractic Office is the first chiropractic office in the area to offer “The Membership Practice” that enables our customers to choose the level of care that fits their need and finances. “The Membership Practice” also limits the upside financial uncertainty of seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis.

As a health care provider, former banker and real estate broker, he has insights on health care, business and politics that might differ from “conventional wisdom”. Feel free to review our blog and offer comments and suggestions. We’re new at this. So, be honest. But, be gentle.

Our practice is located at 2100 Roswell Road, Marietta, Georgia.  Should you have questions or wish to schedule an appointment, please call 770-289-9711 or e-mail us at drtim02@yahoo.com.  Or, visit us on the web at www.marietta-chiropractor.net.

Thanks.

    Hi Tim,
I thought you might be interested in an upcoming LIVE webcast that I’ve been helping to promote for iGuard, one of the nations first and only Patient-Driven Drug Safety Monitoring Program that provides accurate and personalized drug safety information for patients and physicians alike. The event is taking place on Thursday, October 4th at 2PM and will feature Dr. Judith Jones and Dr. Hugo Stephenson who will be on hand to further explain how simple it can now be for anyone and everyone to better assess the level of risks associated with the drugs they are taking/prescribing. You will also be able to ask any questions LIVE via email and have them answered by Dr. Jones and Dr. Stephenson during the webcast.

Recent studies by the Institute of Medicine and the US Food and Drug Administration reveal that the FDA does not focus enough attention on monitoring drugs once they are approved. Most drug approvals are based on clinical trials involving a few hundred or a few thousand patients, but many uncommon side effects don’t emerge until a drug is being used by millions of people. Through a quick online enrollment on the iGuard website (www.iguard.org), patients who regularly take medications can choose to receive patient-specific updates about the safety of the medications they are taking from an independent source. And participants in iGuard will receive these updates whenever new information is learned about their medicine, allowing them to make the most informed decisions about their healthcare.

I was hoping that you might be able to help me spread the word regarding this event by posting information on your blog.
The link for the October 4th online we cast is http://www.visualwebcaster.com/event.asp?id=42333
For more information on iGuard and its services, you can visit http://www.iguard.org and please let me know if I can provide any additional information for you.
Thank you so much for your help.

    And here’s to your health!

    Rena

    Hey Tim ,

GREAT IDEAS YOU SEEM TO HAVE:) I AM WONDERING WHERE YOU CAME UP WITH THE IDEA TO RUN A MEMBERSHIP PRACTICE…?????? I HEARD THERE WAS A GUY by THE NAME Of PHIL YAMAMOTO, DC WHO OWNS PRINCIPLED CHIROPRACTIC TRAINING ( http://www.joinpct.com) OUT IN CALIFORNIA WHO HAS A LARGE TEAM OF DOCTORS ALL AROUND THE USA AND INTERNATIONALLY! HE SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME IDEA YOU HAVE….. HE HAS MANY GUYS RUNNING VERY SUCCESSFUL PRACTICE THE PCT WAY… BY THE WAY…. HOW DO YOU GET AROUND THE LEGALITIES OF USING HIS INFORMATION WITHOUT HIS ATTORNEYS HAVING TO GET INVOLVED??? HE HAS A GUY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE OUT IN ATLANTA???? HAVE YOU TALKED TO HIM???? I AM SURE YOU CAN TRY TO USE HIM TO OBTAIN SOME MORE INFORMATION???? PLEASE SHARE!!! Also, how do you legally charge for a membership type of practice without operating on a dual fee schedule???? SINCE YOU HAVE SUCH GREAT IDEAS, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF YOU COULD ELABORATE MORE?????

Hi Chris. Thanks for the compliment. I’ve been doing The Membership Practice for at least 7 years now AS The Membership Practice. And, I’ve always offered a “Practice Membership” as part of my fee structure. In fact, my ex-wife (also a chiropractor) used something like that back in the 90s. Being a DE guy for over 20 years, I’ve always looked for ways to get Principled chiropractic care to as many people as possible.

I’m sure you’ve heard of “GUY by THE NAME Of PHIL YAMAMOTO, DC”. You work for him! I like what I have seen of Phil’s program. And, yes. I know Dr. Rene. He’s a good friend of mine. You’ll be pleased to know that he hasn’t (and won’t) share any proprietary information with me about Phil’s program even though I HAVE asked him some general questions.

I don’t offer a dual fee system. I offer ONE fee system. I would assume if your system is legal in all 50 states, then mine should be also. Right? Chris, there’s nothing unique about unlimited care at a fixed fee. There’s nothing new about making chiropractic care simple and inexpensive. And fortunately, there’s nothing new about being a Principled chiropractor. BTW while there may be some similarities in how we both do business, I can assure that I don’t use ANY of Phil’s information other than the occasional stuff he posts publicly on the web. that’s the nature of business and chiropractic.

Thanks again for checking out my blog and your comments. Let me know if I can ever be of service to you or Phil. Y’all are doing good stuff. Keep up the great work!

    Hi Tim,
I’ve been charging the patient for a time-of-service discount and putting a monthly cap on it. I like your membership set-up. Do you have the patient sign any membership forms? How are you dealing with Medicare? Are you an UC doc?

    • drtim said

Hi there. Thanks for the note. First, I am not a Medicare provider. Period. Because mine is a wellness practice, I hardly see any Medicare aged folks. While I DO see some folks in that age range, they pay the fee like anyone else. I got tired of collecting by the visit. I don’t like the collections aspect of our business. I was a strict Toggle-Recoil guy right out of school. However, I do check for fixations/compensations these days, too. ALWAYS C-1/2.

    Hi Dr Tim,

I am in to wellness since being dx with lupus and fibromyalgia. My daughter is a massage therapist for a local spa. I started in Jan of 2011 with my goal to achieve over all wellness since i have lost 16 lbs and 6 inches and i am off a lot of my medications and my chronic pain is now tolerable and no longer depend on pain medications. My partners and i are partnering with doctors with our amazing products and the success stories of so many people with diabetes, crohns, IBS, and chronic pain. I would love the opportunity to set down and show you our products and to try them. They are kocher certified, gmo free and heart and diabetic friendly.

    Thanks,

    Tina

Hi Tina. Thanks for the note. I’d love to meet with you. But, we don’t sell any product here. We just offer the best chiropractic care in Georgia. Thanks for asking, though.
